Having young people making up 80% of the continent’s populace, where most of them are seeking answers to their life challenges outside the continent in developed countries remains a big problem that qualifies the need for think tanks like MINDS.
COMMITTED TO CREATING THE AFRICA WE WANT
MINDS is honoured to bear the name of the late Nelson Mandela. His support and endorsement of the organisation has spurred us to create programmes and activities that stimulate continental collaboration and solutions to raise the living standards and opportunities for all Africans.
Through platforms such as the MINDS High Level Dialogues, the Youth Dialogues, Regional training workshops and think tank debates MINDS has helped create a space within the African context to collectively unpack our challenges, gain an understanding of the journey we have travelled and why we are where we are. By doing this analysis, we can then determine where we should be and what we need to be doing differently to move forward.
To expand our reach and impact we need to grow our organisation and your support will enable us to achieve this objective.
FUND A PROGRAMME
We have four dedicated programmes to enable us to tackle issues of African Identity and Heritage and develop our sense of Africanness; assist in addressing developmental challenges and find sustainable solutions for the continent. Looking ahead we need to grow and develop our youth in areas of governance and leadership.
FUND A CAMPAIGN
MINDS will be undertaking research on ‘Africanness’ as a way of establishing an Afro-centric, sustainable development paradigm in Africa. The objective will be to influence legal and policy frameworks for economic, social and political development on the African continent.
