MINDS recently hosted its 3rd annual youth dialogue in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe on the 7th and 8th of August 2015. The dialogue was attended by over 70 participants from over 30 African countries.
Special guests included, South Africa’s ex-Finance Minister Mr. Trevor Manuel and Tanzanian national and Infotech Investment Group Founder, Mr. Ali Mufuruki. Both Manuel and Mufuruki serve on the MINDS Advisory Board and Board of Trustees, respectively.
The MINDS annual Youth Dialogues provide a forum for young Africans from across the continent to interrogate current levels of African youth’s involvement in electoral and governance processes. Three research papers where presented at this year’s dialogue and were used to guide discussions at the event. Topics used on the papers included, ‘The engagement between youth and elders in political governance spheres in Africa’, ‘Economic transformation and inclusivity in Africa’ and ‘Youth Participation in governance in Africa’.
