The Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) is pleased to announce that it will be launching a Scholarship Programme for leadership development in Africa in 2017. The Institute will partner with donors and African universities to sponsor African university students to study within Africa, but outside of their own country. The first phase of the Programme will focus, although not exclusively, on post graduate studies.

The aim of the Scholarship Programme is to develop leaders who have a continent-wide development mindset; leaders who can facilitate greater cooperation between African countries in future. At MINDS, we believe that an integrated African economy of global scale is a sine qua non for the continent’s progress.

The Scholarship Programme is structured to produce future African leaders who will be knowledgeable and comfortable with the continent beyond their national boundaries. We hope that this outlook will make it easier for these leaders to work together to create a more cohesive continent to the benefit of all its populations.

MINDS invites African individuals and organisations to support this one of a kind initiative. For more information on how you can partner with us in developing future African leaders, please email info@minds-africa.org with the phrase MINDS Scholarship Programme in the subject. Further details on the Program will follow soon.
