The 2016 MINDS Annual Youth Dialogue was recently held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on the 3rd and 4th of August. The MINDS Youth Dialogue is an annual gathering of young African leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to the development of Africa, practical involvement in elections and governance and the ability to mobilise other #youth. At this year’s event, 47 African countries were represented by 95 participants.
The #MINDSDialogue2016 delegates received a keynote address from South African Former Finance Minister and MINDS Advisory Board Member, Mr. Trevor Manuel. Manuel shared insights on the state of the continent, highlighting challenges and opportunities in #Africa.
Research topics discussed at the Dialogue included ‘Nation Building in Africa’, ‘The Efficacy of Presidential Term Limits in Africa’ as well as ‘The Trajectory and Challenges of Institutional Reform in Africa’.
Special guests attending the event included, MINDS Advisory Board Member Dr. Adebayo Olukoshi, MINDS Trustee Dr. Jumoke Oduwole and Tanzanian Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office for Union Affairs & Environment, Hon. January Makamba.
